YUUMI PET GROOM PRICE LIST | ROSEBERY SYDNEY
Dear Pet Parents,
Thank you for trusting us with your pet’s grooming and care. At our salon, we are committed to safety, professionalism, and transparency, ensuring every pet enjoys a comfortable experience. At the same time, each pet is unique, and mild reactions after grooming may occasionally occur.
This does not mean there is a problem with the grooming itself; rather, it is usually related to your pet’s individual sensitivities. Below are some common situations, the preventive measures we take in-store, and the observation points we recommend for you at home.
Eye Care
-
Possible Situations
In rare cases, if water or cleaning solution accidentally enters the pet’s eyes, symptoms such as excessive tearing, pawing at the eyes, frequent blinking, redness or swelling, reluctance to open the eyes, or squinting may occur. Eye irritation typically develops within minutes and almost never later than 6 hours. If left untreated within 24 hours, it may lead to serious complications. -
In-Store Precautions
The store applies protective eye drops before bathing and avoids direct rinsing around the eye area. If accidental contact occurs, the eyes will be immediately flushed with a pet-safe solution, and the customer will be informed without delay. -
Customer’s Responsibility at Home
After pick-up, please closely observe your pet for the above signs. At pick-up, we strongly encourage you to examine the surface of the eyes and the eyelid margins (upper/lower lids and the inner/outer corners) together with our staff for any redness, discharge, squinting, or reluctance to open the eyes.
If such symptoms occur, the customer must contact the store within 6 hours and provide clear photo and/or video evidence consistent with the reported symptoms. These records will be kept on file, and the store will actively provide relevant information and reasonable support for follow-up veterinary care. -
Reference
According to the ASPCApro Guidelines, eye irritation generally manifests within minutes to a few hours and requires prompt attention.
Ear Care
-
Possible situations: Pets with floppy or hairy ears may shake their heads or scratch lightly after cleaning. If moisture remains in the ear canal, there is a risk of otitis externa (ear infection).
-
What we do in-store: We avoid excess liquid during ear cleaning, use products sparingly, dry the ears thoroughly, and re-check before handover.
-
What to observe at home: If you notice persistent head-shaking, scratching, bad odour, or discharge, please consult your veterinarian. If your pet already has an ear condition, some discharge may be shaken out after cleaning—this is normal, and prescribed treatment should continue. At pick-up, we encourage you to check your pet’s ears with us to confirm cleanliness.
-
Reference: Ear infections are strongly linked to moisture; keeping the ear canal dry is the most effective prevention 【Merck Veterinary Manual】.
Skin & Coat Care
-
Possible situations: Sensitive pets may develop “clipper irritation” (razor burn) after close clipping, showing local redness or itching. This usually appears within minutes and resolves quickly. In rare cases, within 12-24 hours, some pets may develop folliculitis or furunculosis due to skin sensitivity or bacterial exposure.
-
What we do in-store: We advise against very short blade lengths, use only reputable hypoallergenic products, prepare solutions fresh for each use, and disinfect and dry tools daily to minimise contamination. Areas clipped short will also be shown to you at pick-up for confirmation.
-
What to observe at home: If you notice ongoing redness, discharge, or signs of pain, please contact your vet immediately. Matted coats are a major risk factor for skin irritation—regular brushing at home is essential to keep the coat breathable and healthy.
-
Reference: Most mild skin reactions resolve within 24 hours; if painful pustules or lesions appear within 24–48 hours, prompt veterinary attention is advised 【Today’s Veterinary Practice】.
Other Possible Reactions
Some pets may experience mild stress responses such as vomiting or diarrhoea after grooming. This is usually temporary. We recommend reducing meal size on the day of grooming and providing a calm environment for rest.
The “Golden Window” for Home Observation
The first 24 hours after grooming are most important:
-
Eyes: Any redness, tearing, or reluctance to open the eyes?
-
Ears: Frequent head-shaking, scratching, or unusual odour?
-
Skin: Red spots, hair loss, or signs of pain?
-
General health: Lethargy, vomiting, or diarrhoea?
Reminder: Most mild reactions resolve within a day. If symptoms persist or worsen, please contact us within 24 hours. We will provide advice and, if necessary, recommend that you consult a veterinarian.
Our Commitment
-
Transparency: All grooming sessions are recorded, and we will notify you immediately if anything unusual occurs.
-
Prevention first: By following strict product selection, hygiene, and standardised procedures, we minimise risks as much as possible.
-
Partnership: You are your pet’s closest guardian. We provide professional support, and your observations at home are equally vital.
Post-Grooming Inspection and Claim Timeframe
At the end of the grooming service, the customer must inspect the pet together with staff and confirm that there are no visible abnormalities.
If eye, skin, or ear canal issues arise within 6 hours, the customer must notify the store immediately and provide clear photo or video evidence.
Any issues first reported after 24 hours (including skin or other health problems) will not be considered attributable to the grooming service, unless compelling veterinary evidence clearly demonstrates a direct causal link to the grooming
procedure.
Important Notice: This guide provides general after-care advice and does not replace veterinary diagnosis. If symptoms are severe or persistent, please seek veterinary care immediately.
Sincerely,
YUUMI PET TEAM
